Karges 91, the former president of Karges Furniture died at 3:20 a.m. yesterday at his home at 808 Sunset Ave. He served as the chief designer of the company until his retirement in 1985. The century-old plant, which was founded by his father, Albert F.

Karges, in 1886, Edwin Karges manufactures what is considered to be among the finest high-grade furniture in the country and has showrooms in principal cities throughout the United States and Canada. The Evansville native graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1918, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He served in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant on the armored cruiser U.S.S. Frederick during World War I.

He was a member of the Washington Avenue Presbyterian Church, the Elks Lodge and Evansville Country Club. Surviving are his wife, Evaline daughters, Caroline Karges of Evansville and Joan Hogg of Florence, Italy; stepdaughter, Aline Colker of Dayton, sons, Edwin F. Jr. of Evansville, and Dr. David E.

Karges of Seattle, and 13 grandchildren. Private services will be conducted Monday, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel. The family said friends. if they wish, may make memorial contributions to Washington Avenue Presbyterian Church or any favorite charity.

Cleo Larsossa Sr. Cleo Larsossa 59, of 732 E. Gum died at 7:29 p.m. Thursday at Welborn Baptist Hospital after a brief illness. The Lincoln High School graduate retired after 23 years from the U.S.

Army, having been decorated with two bronze stars, a Purple Heart, two silver stars plus the Vietnam Silver Star and the Army Commendation Medal. He received a Distinguished Citizens Award from Detroit. He was a member of the American Legion and Elks Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Hazel; a daughter, Yana McCants, and a son, Cleo both of Detroit; his mother, Corine Larsossa of Mobile, sisters, Leola Crawford of Detroit, Rose Kimbrough of Lorain, Ohio, and Delores Stewart of Mobile; brothers, Johnny of Lorain, Harry of Detroit and Lawrence of San Diego, and four grandchildren. will be at 11 a.m.

Monday at Grace Lutheran Church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Gaines Funeral Home, where wake services will be conducted from 7 to 9 p.m. John Massie John A. Massie, 73, of Evansville, died at 3:15 p.m.

yesterday at his home. He retired after 22 years at Whirlpool Corp. and had worked at Crown Pottery. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, the former Virginia Charlton; a daughter, Sandra Massie, and a sister, Evelyn Stubbs, both of Evansville.

He retired in 1980 from Brick Oven Bakery and member of Holy Trinity Pro Cathedral and Howell Par 3 Golf Club. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Martha; a daughter, Mary Catherine Wescott of Evansville; sons, Tom and Chris, both of Evansville, and Robert of Newburgh; and four grandchildren. Eckert, 76, of 301 E. Missouri died at 8:07 a.m. yesterday at Deaconess Hospital. She was a member of Bible Center Cathedral. Surviving are her husband, William; a grandson, Dennis Harris of Calfiornia; a greatgrandson, Jerry Roy Harris of Evansville; and a sister-in-law, Mamie Garland of Huntingburg, Ind.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Miller Miller Colonial Chapel, the Rev. Rick VanHoose officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

tomorrow at the funeral home. Marie Kell Marie Kell, 81, of 11 S. Vann died at 5:10 a.m. yesterday at Wirth Hospital in Oakland City, Ind. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Chruch, was a past Sunday school teacher at Willow Road Baptist Church and at one time, she was the church organist for both Grace Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church.

During her church activities, she helped start two mission churches. Miss Kell was retired having worked at both Fendrich Cigar Co. and Sunbeam Co. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Jennie Roberts of Evansville; and a niece, Mary Lathaom of Princeton, Ind.

Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Montford Lester officiating, with burial in Providence Cemetery at Francisco, Ind. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
