  Friday musings....Quality is Profit.....While Indian manufacturing firms speak about quality and Japanese techniques, not much can be seen on the ground.In my engagements with MSME' I see the "chalta hai" attitude is spread far and wide.It becomes a toiling effort to establish procedures in the day to day operating framework of MSME's.The thought that any defect is a cost and eats into company's profit margin is not engrained in promoters as a result machine and manpower both are overburdened like the LBW & Wide in cricket that burdens the bowler and costs the team.The 2nd aspect with respect to quality is the factory environment, compare the factory environment of foreign firms vs Indian MSME':s and you will understand what I am talking about. You can't be quality conscious on the shop floor if there is filth around.Muri, Mura, Muda the 3 M of Japanese quality techniques are basic hygiene for any company to be relevant in today's time.Muri - Overburden Mura - Inconsistency Muda - Wasteful activity At RAKSH Consultants we create surplus for MSME' by optimising existing resources

  AICTE needs to improve the quality of engineering and technological education, rather encroaching the free market courses which have become competitors of Engineering is the bad example. This type of action by AICTE is similar to restricted trade practices of companies which purchase their competitors. The survival of the fittest of AICTE is in its proper action.
