Are the oddsmakers aware that Coombs is no longer the DC? Pretty sure our current DC can adjust to a single play being run over and over and over again.

I think OSU playing Iowa the week before is over looked at the deciding factor in October. Oregon will not play an elite defense until OSU, and OSU plays one the week before Oregon. Our offense will have that experience on how to stay on the field longer and keep drives going which will give us the edge. Their offense will be shell shocked in the beginning which is where OSU will capitalize on.

    Great motivation for the Bucks.

Flip side is our D won't have seen an O like Oregon's either. Stud QB with weapons.

Our defense is far more experienced in general. Quicker learning curves and faster adaptive skills. Oregon will score and get theirs, but it will be too late as OSU will be able to stay ahead through the game due to the offense shortened the game.

Oregon has a completely brand new secondary with 4 transfers starting that could be a big weakness.

And.. if Stewart stayed at A&M we aren’t talking about him in any sense. He was maybe top 7 WR. Tez is better and less injury prone, I’m more worried about him than Stewart. So, I don’t think their weapons ceiling is as high as ours.

Oregon runs tempo, quick read RPO's triggered by a mobile QB resulting in high percentage throws (Nix with a near 80% completion rate) who gets the ball to the perimeter to athletes in space. They spread the field as well as any team.

Easily the seasons biggest test for OSU's defense, particularly the back 7.

Patrick …. You better check the date of the game in your article. You have it down as October 20 but it’s actually being played on October 12.

    Their entire defense is suspect.

Very true Oregon is good but they gave up alot or points and a lot of yards last yards.

Wow, interesting. I wonder what is driving this. Just Oregon hype, or the fact that it's in their house and from what I hear it's not an easy place to play well in as the enemy. I agree with some others here, that their defense and how mid they appear to be is being overlooked by the media whop is hyping them up. Heck, I'm not even convinced their offense can repeat what they did last year. I still think they have a shot to be the second best B1G team, though.

As I've mentioned.. our defense experience is better, which is the edge and why we will win in October. Rematch in the B10 championship, bit more dicey. Wiscy needs to needs to beat Oregon and lose to PSU, rather rematch PSU than Oregon.

They will be good defensively and potentially a great offense l. But that depends on if Gabriel can do what Bo did and how well the replacement for the Remington winning center does. The defense definitely isn’t their strength though. Especially if they felt need to completely overhaul the secondary in the portal.

Agreed. I didn't want to sound like I was really down on them, just a critical overview of how I felt. Especially on offense, they are in a similar situation to us with a new QB, but with great potential there for both teams.

Ohh they could easily be second best team in the conference. TTUN wont be thst good , I need to see a Lincoln Riley team actually play defense before worrying about them and Penn state still has Franklin leading them.

Vegas is buying the Dan Lanning hype, I see. I do think Oregon will be the second best team in the B1G this year, but in no way are they better than OSU.

Yep, a bit less confident of winning that game. Day has proven he can beat a team twice (2019 season), but that Wiscy was nowhere near the talent level this Oregon team. Going down like they did then, a comeback would be very difficult to do.

Slightly below for sure! But, clearly not so far to think they are underdogs anytime they play OSU.
